The French Red Cross in the face of the Ebola epidemic in Guinea: Analysis of an emergency humanitarian response in a context of multidimensional crisis
Mr. Toily Anicet ZRAN holds a PhD in History of Health (Université Felix Houphouët-Boigny, Côte d’Ivoire) and is a specialist in infectious diseases. He is a lecturer in History at the Centre de Recherche sur l’Histoire des Peuples des Savanes d’Afrique (CRESHA) at the Université Alassane Ouattara in Bouaké, Côte d’Ivoire. The first part of the research program analyzed how the French Red Cross was perceived internally and externally by patients, populations and other stakeholders in the fight against the Ebola virus in Guinea. It was conducted through a field study that lasted a year and concluded in September 2016, under the scientific supervision of Mr. Jean-Pierre Dozon, anthropologist and Scientific Director of the Fondation Maison des sciences de l’homme (FMSH) in Paris.
