As it does every year, once the recipients of its research grants have completed their work, the Foundation organises its annual scientific conference: Les Rencontres de la Fondation Croix-Rouge française pour la recherche humanitaire et sociale (The French Red Cross Foundation Conference on Humanitarian and Social Research). The 2025 edition will take place on Wednesday 5 November at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, in partnership with the Sorbonne School of Political Science.
The French Red Cross Foundation
invites you to the 5th edition of its
Meetings for the humanitarian and social research
Wednesday, 5 November 2025, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne – 14 rue Cujas 75005 Paris
In partnership with the École de Science politique de la Sorbonne
During this day, researchers supported by the Foundation will present the results of their research, which will then be discussed during three round tables bringing together researchers and operators in the fields of social action and international solidarity.
This year, the scientific work carried out by the recipients of the Foundation’s research grants sheds particular light on three topics, three challenges at the heart of humanitarian action:
- Volunteering in transition – What do new forms of engagement tell us about the future of humanitarian and social action?
- The health consequences of climate change – How can humanitarian response methods and health systems be adapted to these upheavals?
- Obstacles and prospects for local humanitarian action – Ten years after the World Humanitarian Summit, how can the local and global dimensions of humanitarian aid be reconciled?
In response to these contemporary challenges, researchers provide insights and recommendations for rethinking approaches and improving the lives of those receiving support, which they will discuss with operational staff.
The day will conclude with the Foundation’s 2025 research awards ceremony.
Entrance is free, we look forward to see many of you, but signing up is necessary.
Full planning to come.
