From assitance to autonomy: life trajectory of Malian refugees in Burkina Faso
Sadio Soukouna’s research aims to analyse the citizen initiatives taken by the Burkinabe population towards Malian refugees in Burkina Faso. This research focuses on the conditions for the emergence and maintenance of these community and local channels of mutual aid and care for refugees. The project also aims to explore the extent to which these different forms of societal management of asylum on the fringes of the humanitarian system are at the origin of new forms of solidarity, comprising a strong logic of empowerment, which this system lacks.
