Research project

Why and for what to commit? Untie, link and connect

This research is based on the construction of a reflective survey with French Red Cross volunteers as part of a systems approach to understand why – how – and for what – for what purpose – they engaged in social action. Thanks to this approach, Ms. Bonzi, Doctor of Anthropology (EHESS, 2019), measures the gaps between what a person imagines and wants by engaging and the reality of a difficult daily life where she faces poverty. This action research allows us to question the purpose of the commitment, for volunteers, for the Red Cross and for public policy, and to give the Red Cross experienced and evaluated tools to understand, analyze and react to the withdrawal of volunteers.
