The 2022 Activity Report is online. (Re)discover all the highlights of the past year.

Of particular note this year:

  • A special double-page spread on research in times of emergency, with a focus on 2 research projects from the “Emergency Research Ukraine” programme.
  • A special page on research within the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and the Foundation’s involvement in the Red Cross Red Crescent Research Consortium (RC3).

Through the pages of its annual report, the Foundation would also like to pay tribute to the men and women of the visual arts whose work, alongside research, opens up new views and new perspectives on its priority areas and research themes.

This year, to illustrate the research conducted in 2022 on migration and exile, we wanted to highlight the work of Filipino photojournalist Hannah Reyes Morales. The photos we have chosen to include in this report take us on a journey through one of the artist’s main themes: tenderness in the face of adversity.

From the Boynuyogun refugee camp in Turkey, to temporary accommodation in Marawi in the Philippines, to the slums of Monrovia on the coast of Liberia, find out more about Hannah’s work in the report and on her website.
